In 2019 Captains On Call was crated to help connect a few local freelance captains for work. It was based on a "Pay it Forward" Basis. Soon it became a reference for local knowledge, and shirtly after a resource for industry serevices.

When hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas, Captains On Call became a central reference point for many providing aid. The group went from 80 to 800 members within one week.

As the group continued to grow, I started to host events to help the industry connect. We often meet locally for breakfast at Lesters on 84 or host large gatherings at marinas.

I am a 200 ton Near Coastal USCG Captain. My preferred service area is South Florida however can make arrangeents for travel. Private trips, day charters, sea trials / surveys, and local deliveries are my favorite. If I am unable to do a job, I will find you options quickly at no charge.

It was suggested During a recent networking breakfast that we have an event on the water that we as industry workers should all support, CLEANER WATERWAYS. It begins with us and is our responsibility to educate the youth. We are proud to be sponsoring Coastal Conservation Association and The Chapman School of Seamanship.

Our Story
CCA was created in 1977, after drastic commercial overfishing along the Texas coast had decimated redfish and speckled trout populations. A group of 14 concerned recreational anglers gathered in a local tackle shop to create the Gulf Coast Conservation Association to turn the tide for conservation. Only four years later, gill nets along the Texas coast were outlawed and both red drum and speckled trout were declared game fish.
This previously unimaginable victory launched a new era in marine resource conservation.
The successful conservation movement that started with the “Save the Redfish” campaign got the attention of anglers across the Gulf and by 1985, chapters had formed all along the Gulf Coast. By the early ‘90s, the South- and Mid-Atlantic regions had CCA chapters, in 2007, Washington and Oregon chapters were formed and in 2015, the CCA California chapter was created. The fish are different, but the challenges facing them are often the same on all coasts – destructive commercial gear, degraded habitat and misguided management concepts.
CCA has proven time and again that anglers are the best stewards of the marine environment. We work to protect not only the health, habitat and sustainability of our marine resources, but also the interests of recreational anglers and their access to the resources they cherish. With a growing, well-informed, active membership, CCA continues the mission launched by those 14 visionary anglers so many years ago.

Founded by the late Charles F. Chapman and the late Glen D. Castle, the Chapman School has trained over 30,000 students since opening its doors in 1971. Since its inception, the School has grown from a single vessel to a modern campus of classrooms, labs, dormitories, and large training fleet – both power and sail. The Chapman School is a world-renowned boat school that encompasses 9 waterfront acres in South Florida, located just minutes by water from both the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the Atlantic Ocean.
“. . . There is a magic about the sea. I believe if someone tries to make his life’s work out of it, he will find fulfillment no other work can offer. I believe the magic will rub off on many who would never had the opportunity without the School to which I have proudly lent my name . . .”
